HERMAN LI OF DRAGONFORCE BREAKS SOUND BARRIER ON GUITAR

During a recent show in Mexico City, Herman Li of DRAGONFORCE broke the sound barrier on his custom Ibanez guitar while playing the song ‘Through the Fire and the Flames’.

Sonic speed was reportedly obtained during the solo part of the song, and resulted in a sonic boom originating from Li’s fret hand. The sonic boom shocked audiences as it traveled through Li’s guitar and exploded both his guitar amp and the venue PA.

Herman Li could not be reached for comment, but DRAGONFORCE’s sound engineer, Sawnd Gai– who is also Li’s cousin from Hong Kong – had the following to say about the incident:

Is very bad! Every day I say to Herman Ri: You no break sound barrier! You break PA-system, is very expensive! You pay now!”

Whether the venue is going to claim compensation for the damages done to their PA-system is yet to be decided.
